Salut ,

merci

Hallo Nico,

now (b31 e b32 on OSX10.10.2) I'm able to export and import ascii files.
Thanks a lot.

Now I manage to write a conversion script for cues from Smartfade 2496 and that's great.
For a more complete work I would like to traspose the patch map too.
But it crashes.
Because I cannot understand the pattern DL has to export and import values.
Smartfade has 5 channels per line.
DL has 8 channels on first line, 7 on second, 6 from channel 16 to 99, 5 for the rest. Is that right anytime?

Anyway, good job.
DND in track channel is really powerful,
thanks.

Carlo.

@Carlo

first who did create the asc files? is that DL or your script?

at least you need to isolate the line:
CLEAR PATCH

this one must be without anything else
for ascii, I think that 8 patterns is the max allowed. after there can be 1, 2, .... till 8

DND in track channel is really powerful,

a lot!!

Files were created by script.

Here how I did it:

created an empty Basic Show than exported as ASCII;
set constants in script with header, middle and last part of file;
converted cues and patch as in exported model and created file.

Working file has been modified with textedit (I tried also Textmate with no difference): I pasted patch section from the model.

CLEAR PATCH is in the basic file and also without that line crashes.
Strange thing is my/smartfade ascii file has only 5 patch channel per line, so it shouldn't have variable dimension problem.

Anyway I can create it that way.

Thanks,

Carlo.

@Carlo
if your script do the job, please change Manufacturer/Console words (as many things depends on what kind of console create the asc file...)
you can put for example CARLO/SCRIPT.
anyway,
files are processed line by line, thus for the patch, no matter (;-)) how long is the text line, it should always begin with
PATCH 1
and this pattern should never be repeated in the line.

idem for the cues
you should insert \n at least at the end of any cue.

hope this helps.

Solved.

The problem was in not assigned channels. Smartfade marks them as 100/0/100 (with dimmer = 0) while DL doesn't write (and read) them at all.

All the rest as you said just to have files as cleanest as possible.

Thanks again.

C.
