DLight crash during show was created by stebian
Hi,
I´m on 4.0.26 64 bit Windows 10 and DLight keeps crashing at some point during a show for About a month now. It doesn´t always happen. Usually at the end for some reason. I´m using a custom build midi-controller for ages now with DLight.
Any ideas on why this could happen? The DLight window just disappears within a blink of the eye. I´m using a Lenovo Yoga 900S with core m7, 8gb ram and Windows 10 Home 64bit.

Hi Stebian,
There must be a reason for DL to crash. Not expected though but we should find a way to fix it.
I need to know if it crashes on some manual stuff (if it crashes when you manipulate your midi hardware... but I doubt).
Does your windows system is up to date?
Can you post your sho?

It´s hard to say when exactly it crashes. My midi hardware does sometimes wiggle between slider values. But it always did that (I´m using it for serveral years now with dLight) and the crashes just began in November past year, no matter witch 4.0.x version I used. Before I only ever made it crash by experimenting with OSC (when I accidentally send out of range values).
Windows is always up to date.
I started DLight just now and will let it run without midi hardware throughout the night. Is there a log file by any chance that could help figuring out why it crashes?
I attached a .sho.
Thanks for your help!

DLight is still up and running without midi. I´m beginning to think it might be my midi hardware that for some reason is causing DLight to crash...

@stebian,
a midi loop is when you have midi In and Out available from the same server and message are send to Out and received from In.
but I don't think it's your problem as midid loop have never made DL to crash.
my guess is your midi hardware could send out of the range midi values and so can make DL to crash.
what kind of messaging do u use? mostly CC or NOTE?

I´m sending CC and NOTE only. I couldn`t find what exactly it is about but I found that my controller does have connecting issues via USB sometimes. I can only solve those by replugging USB. I will try and check on off range values but I doubt it. I´ll let you know when I find something.
I´m also about to move the controller to OSC mainly for the sake of 8 bit resolution on fader values.
Thanks for your help!
