Multi-window issue - open windows on main monitor?

When using with D::light on my mac with an external monitor (or beamer) attached the windows open on the other monitor (windows like MIDI, setup, Patch). I did this once because it was handy on one occasion but now it does this all the time, even when I open them again on the main window, save the show, close it and open it again. How can I make the windows open on the main monitor, not on the beamer or external monitor? It drives me crazy when I have to change settings and I am using the computer for Qlab (video) as well.

By the way: same goes for the shortcut settings. I am using 3.0.18 (because of the IMHO better/simpler inhibition control).

Fixed both issues!

Shortcut-issue: Deleted all shortcuts, after that I opened the saved shortcuts. This is what I always do. But then I closed the window and saved it. There were still a few shortcuts not working. I deleted them and retyped them (the = was the biggest problem). I closed the window and saved again. Now it does seem to stick in the file. The few corrupted shortcuts ( "= ever exist") are now working again.

The issue with the windows finally worked after doing about the same:

After opening D::Light I moved the main window drastically to the right (main window), opened all sub windows, pulled them to the main monitor, CLOSED THEM and THEN saved them. Then I closed and reopened D::Light, moved the main window to the right and opened the file. Now they keep sticking to the main window.

Hi Wilf,
windows size and position are indeed recorded with the sho, thus if you open them on a second screen and record the sho, they will always be displayed at the recorded x,y position.
as I do not have a second screen to test, it will be hard to fix...
can you pleaz make a short list of most problematic windows, like that I can write some check between the screen size / recorded size for them.

Since I fixed this with the aforementioned method I cannot say there was any window with more problems than the other. I think it had to do with the recording of an external monitor in one occasion and when plugging in another monitor or video projector DLight started up in the middle of the screens. Before opening the file I put DLight on the main screen.

I will try to add a check for all windows regarding the screen size.

Thanks!

I was in China, just got back so could not respond. In theaters in China most technicians don't understand DMX and were puzzled, angry at first, when I removed the DMX cable from their old lighting desk. Their amazement grew more when they saw me installing the Enttec Pro 2 and using D::Light.

The show in China had video and the trick I did with the right steps for dragging the windows at home with an external monitor really helped (You have to do it with an external monitor though, or else it doesn't work, that was the biggest problem previously -> the program reacts different when the external monitor is or is not there). I did forgot one window though… That was the dimmer curve window! Luckily I was patching and somebody helped me guide the mouse pointer on stage to drag the window back (was too far for me to see).

I will surely check out the new version.
