failing midi processing?? was created by Pierred13
I,ve made an interface (software from MAX/MSP + hardware-controller Behringer BCF2000) to control
:light. It works OK. BUT!
Once in a while, actually quite often,
:light fails to respond to an input. The midimessage is recognised as you can check on the midicommand-page, but it is not processed. Is this a known problem?
I'm using 1.28 Quartz on a MacbookPro with 10.5.
Thanks for any help.
Peter

hi,
can you tell what kind of midi command is not processed!
is it with NoteOn, CC or PC, and what type of DL command (Channel, Sub, Flash...)

The problem occurs certainely with controller-messages assigned to the submasters and the X1 and X2 crossfaders. I didn't do much checking on the note-messages assigned to the play and back options, so I am not sure about that now. Will check that later.
Thanks for the quick reply.

what kind of midi controller do you use ?
in Midi In function, what did you choose? (Multiple Input or a specific one)
with submasters, you have to reach the actual value before processing it.
i guess it may cause some problem if 0 value is forgotten....
but with X1 & X2 it's different....

As said: I'm using a MAX/MSP patch, that can work as an independent que-station, but wich in turn can accept midedata and tansfers it its output.
In most cases (lets say 9 out of ten) it works well, but occasionally it fails. The thought of mssing the zero could make some sense. I'm going to do some checking when I returned from my actual tour. (I don't carry arround the BCF2000 as can be understood...) But here by the MAX/MSP patch which would operate with any midi-controller and, as said, standalone.

Sorry, file transfer didn't work.
