we're slowly moving towards the summer and i'm getting ready for an intense tour starting next week. as usual all shows on Dlight.

"(sweet)(bitter)" by ZOO/ThomasHauert and "Pulse Constellations" by Gabriel Schenker at Centre Culturel Suisse Paris on may 23-24

"ANECKXANDER" by Alexander Vantournhout at Rencontres Chorégraphiques Paris (la Chaufferie) on may 27-28.

"inaudible" at Rencontres Chorégraphiques Paris (Espace Michel-Simon) on may 30.

finalising the creation of "it's time" by ACME at Charleroi Danses and returning to Rencontres Chorégraphiques Paris to premiere this piece on june 16-17 at Nouveau théâtre - salle Maria Casarès.

does anyone know where i can get a new enttec or maybe dmxking interface in Paris?

my enttec dmx usb pro seems to have a strange problem. i could only control a few dimmers and when i use the one from the theatre everything works as normal. (and theirs is several years older)

yes i can use the one from here in La Chaufferie as well, but after this week in Paris i go straight to Montreal. i should just get a new one. i can also roder one online and have it sent somewhere i guess.

but i was thinking maybe i should go to an ethernet interface instead of usb, so i have more than one universe as well.

yep.
IMHO, the edmx2 is a nice product.
you can access to 2 DMX universe, or within DL 4.0.13, 1 port as Output and 1 port as Input.

having more than one universe is definitely an advantage.
but to work practical with the ethernet interfaces i need a POE switch as well. (i use the ethernet connection of my laptop quite often to set up a midi connection with the computer that runs the sound)

tomorrow i have to do the setup in Noisy-le-grand so i can't go out and buy anything. but i'll call Soliled Paris to check what they have in stock and then maybe go there on tuesday morning to buy one.

you must be aware that when you enter Ethernet world, a good ethernet switch is your best friend...

if you look for POE, this one might be a good choice as besides 4xPOE port, it offers snooping IGMP which means it can do some intelligent routing in case of multicast.
and both Art-Net v4 and streaming ACN are doing multicast.

Soliled doesn't have any DMXking in stock (only in Grenoble) and i need it tomorrow.

so it will be an Enttec MK2 as i can find this in Paris right now.
