Submaster CC problem a été créé par Wilf
I have a problem with sending CC to Submasters (and I've tried it with several versions of
:Light). The strange thing is that this problem seemed to appear only recently because I've used CC for Subs since beginning this year. The only thing that changed since then is that I updated to Mountain Lion. Maybe it is just a coincidence and I always had luck that this usage of CC worked anyway.
The problem:
When sending a CC of 127 to a submaster it only works half of the time. It seems that, when you want to use a CC with a submaster, you have to send a 0 twice. Because then it does work.
Examples ( CC = control change send, SM = submaster response):
Example A (loops infinitely):
1. CC:127 -> SM:0
2. CC:0 -> SM:0
3. CC:127 -> SM:100
4. CC:0 -> SM:0
Example B (when setting CC @ 0 twice the next value DOES register):
1. CC:0 -> SM:0
2. CC:0 -> SM:0
3. CC:127 -> SM:100
Example C (sending same CC value over and over):
1. CC:63 -> SM:0
2. CC:63 -> SM:0
3. CC:63 -> SM:0
4. CC:63 -> SM:0
5. CC:0 -> SM:0
6: CC:63 -> SM:50
When setting a fader to a certain value, setting the CC:0 and using the fader it will only respond when fading it back to 0.
Attached I'm sending a Pure Data-file sending @ CC1CH1 and a simple DLight-file which listens to CC1CH1 so one can replicate the behaviour. One does not have to use Pure Data though because the problem exists in every CC-sending program or device (so it is not the device itself (I have the problem in Qlab as well and now I think of it - it also happens with my MIDI hardware, and that's since the beginning.

@Wilf,
there's indeed an issue when you use CC to set immediately the Sub to FF.
it works as expected when you use NOTE ON to set immediately the sub to FF, but not with CC.
with MIDI hardware (I use the nanoK) you don't have problems using CC as long as you don't request a FF value immediately.
if you want to Flash a sub, please use Note.
I'm aware that this can be an issue and will work on that for the next release.

Merci Nicolas.
I have been using CC for this because I made some special fades in QLab, from 0 to FF and then a particular envelope. I was thinking as a (temporary?) workaround to send two 0 CC prior for this envelope.
